U11's Girls - Match Report 16/10/16

“The Girls U11'S had a great win on Sunday 16/10/16 in the 1st round of Herald Cup at Home on the Field of Dreams in St Annes Park against Maynooth Town, winning 4-2.

Great displays all round . Our Player of the Week Mia “ The Bomber”Doran pounced for 2 goals and deserves a special mention for her ability to craft a shooting opportunity from all angles.2 goals also by the ever elusive Georgie “Jinksy” O Connor. The 2nd goal followed a great run from just inside the oppositions half for goal of the match

Another Rock solid display by Goalie Aisling “Shilts”Savage who vigilantly guarded her goal at all times and provided great stability for the whole team . At the back tough tackling Liadh “ Baresi” McKeon who takes after her Mam, not her Auntie Liam and Emma “Emlyn Crazy Horse” Hughes who was immense throughout let little by them all day that wasn’t on its knees and in need of recovery.

Midfield General Libby “The Lion” McKay controlled her patch regally , working ferociously all day winning possession , distributing with vision and composure. Left Wing “Lightening” Lilly Nolan surged forward at every opportunity splitting the oppositions defense at will and laid on a precision pass for Mias Dorans 1st goal.Caoileann “Sully” O Sullivan worked tirelessly all day breaking down opposition attacks in Midfield, continuously linking play between defense and attack as did Luara “Spud”Murphy and Kerri “The Cat” Craven who both raided the oppositions defense with tireless enthusiasm and no shortage of skill and craft.
