Raheny United are delighted to announce the appointment of Chris McDonnell as their new 1st team manager. Chris was recently part of Gerry Davis’s management team with the Irish side competing at the UEFA Regions Cup in Istanbul. He has just taken up his appointment on his return from Turkey.
In a statement released over the weekend, Raheny Chairman Peter McGonigle welcomed Chris to the Club saying “Chris brings with him a wealth of experience both as a player and coach. His teams have a reputation for playing open attacking football and our recently opened All Weather Arena in St. Anne’s Park close to our Clubhouse, provides an ideal platform for Chris and his coaching team to bring the best out of our teams. We are excited at the prospects for the coming season and look forward to a new phase in the Club’s development.”
Raheny United was formed 23 years ago following the amalgamation of Raheny Boys and Dunseedy United. It now boasts 30 teams of all ages, Senior, Junior, Over 35s, boys and girls, and has become a major powerhouse in junior football on the Northside.
This latest appointment of Chris McDonnell, coupled with our new state of the art all weather pitch in St. Anne’s Park will help the Club consolidate its position and build on its growing reputation in the area.
