FAI U17 All Ireland Cup Raheny Utd 4, Dundrum FC 2
It was Raheny who were out of the blocks quickest, but after the ball was kept in by the corner flag Dunrum reacted quickest to go ahead against the run of play. 10 minutes later, Alex McIndoe struck an exquisite equaliser from 20 yards following good build up play as the teams went in 1-1 at HT. Dundrum started the quicker of the teams in the 2nd half but Raheny grew into the game and took the lead 10 minutes in with another brilliant first time strike from McIndoe straight from a Raheny throw in. Dundrum bounced back quickly with a fortuitous O.G after the ball looped up over Raheny keeper Nathan. It was Raheny who again bounced back as Sean Barrett tapped in a rebound after a nice move to put us in front 3-2 The win was sealed 5 minutes from time as McIndoe rounded off his hat-trick with a half volley from outside the box. Hard pushed to find a better hattrick anywhere. Well done to the players and management who go marching on to a well deserved place in the last 8 of the cup.
